Since the start of this pandemic, essential workers have been rising to the occasion to help make sure that all of us are able to navigate this challenging time. This is why it is especially important to make sure they are ALL thanked in a heartfelt way for their courage and commitment to their communities.
Government restrictions across the globe present staffing shortages, supply chain issues and frustration. Through it all, our frontline workers have been stepping up to the challenge. One sector that might not get enough praise is the transportation workers who keep residents and supplies moving around safely.
Have you thought of how much we really rely on them for our everyday functioning? When we think of our transportation essential employees we must include them all. Things and people are transported all over our province every day. People ride our public transportation to work and they are arriving safely thanks to our trusted transit workers. People are driving our highways and surface streets daily to get around. An impossible task without tow-truck drivers, plows and salter trucks… All of them are vital! Groceries, manufacturing supplies and all those other goods which are imperative to our daily life? All being transported via rails and roads by essential railway personnel and truck drivers.
