Reminder of upcoming changes regarding HSBC Bank of Canada (HSBC) and its disconnection from THE EXCHANGE® Network on Monday, March 18, 2024, at 8:00 PM EST.
THE EXCHANGE® Network is a collaborative effort among banks and credit unions, allowing cardholders to utilize each other’s ATMs without incurring surcharges. As a member of THE EXCHANGE® Network, The Energy CU offers our cardholders access to approximately 3,500 surcharge-free ATMs across Canada.
Here’s how this change may affect you:
Starting March 18, 2024, at 8:00 PM EST, Energy CU members attempting transactions at HSBC ATMs will receive an onscreen message redirecting them to nearby non-HSBC ATMs within THE EXCHANGE® Network. Any attempted transactions at HSBC ATMs after this time will be declined. HSBC ATMs will also display onscreen notices alerting cardholders of this change before March 18, 2024.
