On October 15, we celebrate International Credit Union Day, a day that recognizes the positive impact credit unions have on their members and communities around the world. This year’s theme, “Cooperative Finance: A Steady Signal in a Noisy World,” highlights something we’ve always believed at The Energy Credit Union: people matter more than profits, and relationships matter more than transactions.
We live in a time of endless notifications, automated responses, algorithms, and artificial intelligence. While technology can make banking more convenient, it can never replace the value of a real conversation with someone who knows your name, understands your goals, and genuinely wants to help.
That’s where credit unions are different.
As a member-owned financial cooperative, The Energy Credit Union exists to serve our members, not shareholders. Every decision we make is guided by what’s best for the people and communities we serve. Whether you’re opening your first account, saving for retirement, applying for a loan, or simply looking for advice, you’ll always find real people ready to listen and help.
Our roots are local, and our focus remains firmly on our members. We believe banking should be personal, accessible, and built on trust. That’s why we continue to invest in meaningful relationships, community involvement, financial education, and member service that goes beyond what technology alone can provide.
This International Credit Union Day, we’re celebrating what makes credit unions special: people helping people. Thank you for being part of our credit union family and for helping us build a stronger community together.
Happy International Credit Union Day!
