On a beautiful day filled with great company, unique experiences, and plenty of laughter, members joined us for an outing to Haute Goat Farm and the Salmon Ladder. One of the highlights of the trip was our visit to Haute Goat Farm. Participants enjoyed spending time with the friendly animals, exploring the beautiful property, and experiencing all the charm the farm has to offer. Whether it was interacting with the goats, taking photos, or simply enjoying the peaceful surroundings, there was something for everyone to enjoy. The day also included a delicious lunch that certainly did not disappoint. Portions were generous, the food was excellent, and many attendees happily took leftovers home to enjoy later.
Another unforgettable stop was the Salmon Ladder. Watching the salmon make their incredible journey upstream was both fascinating and inspiring. Seeing the fish leap through the water as they navigated the salmon ladder provided a unique glimpse into one of nature’s most remarkable seasonal events. We were fortunate to be guided by local historian and storyteller Peter Brotherhood, whose knowledge and enthusiasm added an extra layer of enjoyment to the day. His stories and insights helped bring the region’s history to life and gave participants a deeper appreciation for the places we visited. Of course, every successful bus trip needs a great driver, and ours was no exception. Her skill, professionalism, and sense of humour helped ensure everyone felt comfortable and relaxed throughout the day.
The feedback we received was overwhelmingly positive. Many participants commented on the value of the experience, and several told us it was one of the best trips we’ve organized. Hearing members connect with one another, share new experiences, and create lasting memories is exactly why we continue to offer these events.
