Increased Security for Internet Banking

Attention Members, the Credit Union is happy to anounce that we have launched Increased Authentication, an additional layer of security for your Internet Banking experience.

How it Works

When you log into online banking, you will have to answer a challenge question. You will then view your personal image and enter your PAC.  Do not enter your PAC if the wrong image is shown as this could indicate a security issue. Contact your financial institution if this happens.

Registering your Computer for faster logins

You can speed up the login process by opting to register your computer. When you log in from a registered computer, you don’t have to answer a challenge question before viewing your personal image and entering your PAC. Registering your home or personal computer is highly recommended for faster logins. You should not register shared or public computers. Cookies are used to identify registered computers. If you clear your cookies, you will have to re-register your computer.

If members should put in the wrong security question more than 3 times, their account will be locked, and the Credit Union will need to be contacted.  Members currently have the option to enrol for this new layer of protection; however, it will become mandatory within the next 2 months, and all members will login using Increased Authentication.  Members are encouraged to enrol now, choose their security image and phrase, and choose from a list of security questions in the enrollment process.  Your current Alias and Password will continue to work in tandem with this service.

If members have any questons about this new service that can help keep your money safe, please contact our office at 416-542-2522.
