Black Friday is usually celebrated on the fourth Friday of November. It is said that the event gets its name due to the fact that retailers traditionally operated at a financial loss (“in the red”) from January through November, and “Black Friday” indicates the point at which retailers begin to turn a profit, or are “in the black”. You see crazy shoppers on the news fussing and fighting over Black Friday sales. Don’t believe the hype!
