Doomsday Review

Have you seen I am Legend, Resident Evil, Mad Max, if so, you’ve seen Doomsday. This film was certainly exciting from the first five minutes right through to the end of the movie. The film is about a city on the British/Scotish border that is infected with a virus and their Government chooses to contain the Virus by enforcing Marshall Law and imprisoning the entire city with a wall that surounds it, i.e. I am Legend. Residents were told to stay in their homes until hope comes, hope that would never come, they were basically left to die. Twenty Five years later the Virus is back, this time in London. Video scans prove that there were survivors within the imprisoned city, so officials believe that there is a cure, and a specialized team lead by a tough woman with an I don’t care about anything attitude in to the city to try to find it, i.e. Resident Evil. Once in the city, they come across the survivors who have created their own world in a very futuristic cannibalistic biker gang society, i.e. Mad Max. What the specialized team didn’t realize is that they are stuck right in the middle of a war that is taking place within the city walls, while trying to find the cure before it’s too late. Although exciting, this film is not for everyone. It is brutally violent and gory from start to finish, hence the 18A rating. If this film was the first of its kind, I would have rated it higher, but I felt as though I’ve seen it before several times. 3/5.
