The Exchange

Members have access to over 3,600 surcharge-free ATMS in Canada that display THE EXCHANGE® Network logo. This provides TECU members access to their accounts without paying additional charges. THE EXCHANGE Network is a group of banks and credit unions that have come together and agreed to let their cardholders use each others ATMs as if they were their own. This gives their cardholders access to thousands of ATMs across Canada, all surcharge-free.

CHANGING YOUR PIN ON YOUR ENERGY CREDIT UNION ATM CARD

PIN changes are now quick, easy and convenient, with no need to visit a branch. If you forgot the PIN on your ATM card please call our offices during business hours. Credit Union staff will activate the new PIN Window feature on your card and then you can go to any Exchange machine with PIN changing capabilities. You will have 4 hours before the PIN Window  will close. When prompted to enter a PIN you will just enter any “dummy” 4 digit PIN and choose “change PIN”. Due to the activation of the PIN Window by CU staff you will then put in the new 4 digit PIN of your choice. You can then continue with a banking transaction or you can end the transaction. The next time you use your Energy CU ATM card you will use the new 4 digit PIN you selected.

If you already know the PIN on your ATM card but you want to choose a new one, please visit our branch or any Exchange machine with PIN changing capabilities. If you want to find the closest machine to you you can search ATM locations in our APP or call our branch at 416-238-5606.

Your card has Interac Flash®!

All Energy CU ATM cards come with Interac Flash® enabled. If you wish to turn this feature off please call our offices at 416-238-5606. Your Interac Flash® debit limit is automatically set at $100 for each tap transaction. You must insert your card and enter your PIN after every $400 in Interac Flash transactions you make.

Going south for work or pleasure?

Look for the Accel logo at ATMs whenever and wherever you are traveling in the United States.  As a Canadian Exchange cardholder, you can withdraw money from any ATM displaying the Accel logo and the vast majority of them will be surcharge free to you.

EXCHANGE cardholders also now have access to the Allpoint Network, the largest surcharge-free ATM Network in North America. This now allows cardholders to access their money at over 40,000 ATMs with ease and without surcharge at prime retail and convenience store locations when traveling to the United States.

Deposits are only allowed at EXCHANGE ATMs in Canada, so if you are going to be away for an extended period and need to deposit to your account, plan ahead and talk with us about other options available to you. Remember!

If you’re planning on taking a trip outside of Canada, please contact us at 416-238-5606 prior to leaving. Our ongoing monitoring programs have identified increased levels of fraud in certain countries recently. As a result, debit card transactions may not be processed in those countries. If you are a frequent traveler to the US, you can sign a Bond of Indemnity which would allow you to have full access of your card without having to notify us each time, for the states you specify. Some conditions apply. For more information please contact us at 416-238-5606. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, but the security of our Members and their funds is very important to us.
